Or a martyrs stone, is a raw/reject gem, caused by complications or mixed gem types failing within the kindergarten.
raw gems are usually disposed of immediately, but bloodstone was stronger they they realized, and escaped.
however during the great gem war, their body was badly injured and their gem fell into the sea
Their main gem, or 'core gem' is located on their chest, though many believe it is the one on the back of their neck.
core gems are usually in a large cluster. when injured and returning to their gem state it looks more like a rock jutting out with gems then what one would typically see.
the shards that form with their bodies eventually fade, because they are not a part of the main cluster when returned to their gem only state.
these gems have many defects, but dont hinder and almost seem normal to raw gems
defects such as
-'glitching out'
-gem shard growth on their bodies
- missing limb or extra limbs
-skin splotches
-some even reported rejects with half one gem and half the other, causing a shift of color scheme right down the middle.

logic- gems only have 1 gem on this bloodstone has many and there all the same
